What is or was the use of the Friese stabij

Not so long ago the Stabijhoun lived at the countyside of Friesland (a province in the North of Holland) and he was feeling "noflik" (comfortable) in and around the farm or working-class house. The switchover from the sober, calm and rectilinear life as a farm dog to the city life as a compagnion dog meant a big changeover..jpg)
The excellent character makes the Stabij suitable as a house dog, but nevertheless a house dog that has to have a lot of movement every day. It is a good family dog, knew how to get used to the city life. But it loves the countryside and really wants to go out in the nature with his/her boss in all weathers. It also is a fine working dog and, when it's good educated, it's very suitable for the hunting.
Although the character is very openminded in a busy enviremont it can look al little bit nervous. In the house however it's a quiet, pretty and patient dog.
